Facebook's Mobile Ads Are Expected to Take Off

Whenever people talk or write about Facebook these days there seems to be one thing everybody agrees on: Facebook needs mobile ads to work in order to reaccelerate its revenue growth.
Ever since going public in May, the social network has produced almost exclusively bad news. Last week, research firm eMarketer added to the Facebook's woes by cutting its forecast of the company’s revenue by $1 billion for this year.
Today, eMarketer delivered some good news for Facebook’s investors: the company expects Facebook’s mobile ad business to really take off next year. While the company lacks behind all major competitors in terms of mobile ad revenue this year, by 2014 Facebook is expected to be No. 2 in the mobile ad business.
760 percent growth between 2012 and 2014 looks pretty bullish at first glance, but given the fact that Facebook has only just begun to monetize its 162 million mobile users in North America, it doesn’t seem impossible for Facebook to reach these numbers.
