As marketers, we have a keen awareness that SEO is critically important, but often have little understanding of what it is beyond that. We know that we need to do it for our website to rank better in search engines. We know that it will help us increase traffic to our website and enter leads into the sales funnel. We may even have a grasp of some of the fundamental practices or facets involved: keywords, high-quality content, providing a great user experience, etc. But overall, as marketers, anything about SEO that involves more than a cursory understanding is beyond us we don’t have the tools or knowledge to really grasp the basic elements
