Scot Wingo’s 2017 List of Triangle “Tweeners”

Triangle Tweeners are companies based out of the Triangle with at least $1M in sales or 10 people. They generally are technology companies (mostly around software) and are independent and not public.

Clinverse, a healthtech software company for automatic payments, was acquired in January 2016 by Bioclinica for $123 million. WebAssign was acquired by Cengage, with terms not disclosed. Impulsonic was acquired before it could officially make the list. The acquisition by Valve happened in January 2017. PredictifyMe shut down and declared bankruptcy.
