Facebook encourages users to share events in stories

Facebook has chosen a new tactic to attract users to Stories. The plan is to get them from News Feed to Stories to share events. Friends then click on the event page and indicate whether they are interested in the event or not. Adding events to the story may seem like a small step towards achieving this goal, but it mimics the way the News Feed is currently being used to share news. By pushing users to share events - an extremely popular Facebook feature - for your story, the company can get more storytelling opportunities.
