The flu is the sort of disease that people think is not that big of a deal. However, the fact of the matter is that tens of millions suffer from it every year, and hundreds of thousands of people end up having to get emergency medical care due to symptoms caused by the influenza virus. Flu still causes tens of thousands of deaths a year, so it’s fair to say that humanity has not achieved optimal efficiency in terms of preventing this virus from having too much on an impact on our day to day lives.
